Hirose has designed a new hybrid FPC/FFC with significant space savings compared to competing products with the same allowable current. This series is ideal for use with FPC/FFC of 0.3mm (+/-0.03mm) standard thickness. It provides 66 contacts (positions) spaced at 0.5mm and in length at 47.88mm. The TF43SW series hybrid connector combines power contacts capable of handling both 12A and 0.5A signal contacts with A height of only 1.2mm and mounting depth of 4mm.

Unique contact actuator design provides retention tags to prevent accidental actuator separation. Keep the piece wrapped around the driver shaft and hooked to the cavity to prevent the driver from opening. Actuator hold tabs, coupled with a two-point contact design, improve the reliability and robustness of the series. It also prevents moisture absorption of solder through a nickel plated barrier.

"Compared to similar connectors on the market, the TF43SW can save up to 22.9 percent of space," said Mark Kojak, vice president of sales and marketing for Hirose Electric USA. "The hybrid FPC/FFC is ideal for a variety of space-constrained applications that require high power and signal capability."

The compact family of connectors is commonly used for portable and consumer electronics applications, including smart TVS, laptops and tablets, gaming systems, hard drives and optical pickups, as well as office equipment, medical devices and industrial machinery.
