Medical ventilator and oxygen generator are effective means to treat respiratory failure and dysfunction. Demand for medical ventilators and oxygen generators has soared over the past three years due to COVID-19. Today, despite the implementation of liberalized policies in most countries around the world, the demand for ventilators and oxygen generators remains tight, and there is a long-standing gap in the market for oxygen concentration and flow sensors, which are key components in medical ventilators and oxygen generators. In this trend, ST's STM32F030K6T6 chip introduced ultrasonic oxygen concentration sensor module solution can simultaneously measure oxygen concentration and flow rate, and achieve ultra-high accuracy.

Ultrasonic technology (ultrasonic time difference method) is the use of a pair of ultrasonic transducers meet each other alternately (or at the same time) to receive and receive ultrasonic waves, through the observation of ultrasonic wave in the medium (gas or liquid) in the downstream and counter-current propagation time difference to indirectly measure the flow rate of fluid, and then through the flow rate to calculate the flow rate of an indirect measurement method. Flow measurement using ultrasonic principles depends only on flow and geometry.

For accurate calculation of oxygen concentration and flow, STM32F030K6T6 MCU uses a high-performance M0 core 48MHz 32-bit RISC core, high-speed embedded SRAM memory and a wide range of enhanced peripherals and I/O. The STM32F030K6T6 provides a standard communication interface, a 12-bit ADC, seven universal 16-bit timers, and an advanced control PWM timer. STM32F030K6T6 Microcontroller operating voltage range is 2.4 to 3.6V and operating temperature is -40℃ to +85℃. For low power needs, the STM32F030K6T6 offers a comprehensive power saving mode that can be used to design low power applications.
