    STMicroelectronics' IPS1025HFQ is a monolithic architecture in M0T5 VIPower Technology and assembled in QFN48L (8 mm x 6 mm) Package.  The IC is single high-side switch device which can drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to ground (high-side switch).  The operating voltage is recommended in the range 8.65 V up to 60 V, but the breakdown voltage on the supply pin can reach 65 V.

     The output stage is a N-channel PowerMOSFET with a typical RDS(ON) of 12 mOhm at ambient temperature, internally limited at 2.5 A minimum output current.  The IC offer the possibility to set two different current limitation levels (ILIMH-X and ILIML-X) purposing the smart driving of loads such as bulb lamps and loads with initial peak current request as capacitive ones.

     Thanks to the embedded protections, with two different couples of current limitation thresholds and levels (IPKH, ILIMH per a DPK time and IPKL, ILIML) and integrated diagnostics are very suitable device to realize functional robust machinery with loads with initial peak current request.

     The IPS1025HFQ thanks to power on/off delay time lower than 60 μs, is suitable for SIL (Safety Integrity Level) applications requirements for interface type C (or D) Class 3.  The STEVAL-IFP040V1 industrial digital output expansion board for STM32 Nucleo provides a powerful and flexible environment for the evaluation of the driving and diagnostic capabilities of the IPS1025HFQ (single high-side smart power solid state relay) in a digital output module connected to 2.5 A (max.) industrial loads.

       The IPS1025HFQ is monolithic single device which can drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to ground;  the IC is specifically designed to drive heavy loads with extremely low power dissipation in PLC module or on driving unidirectional motors in vending machine applications.
