ON Semiconductor's NCP3231A high-current synchronous buck converter is the main application for telecommunications / network equipment and server / storage systems, such as cellular base stations. Designed as a high-efficiency voltage-mode synchronous buck converter, it operates from a 4.5V to 18V input and generates output voltages as low as 0.6V at currents up to 25A. This device provides non-destructive low-side FET current sensing, 500KHz switching frequency, external programmable soft-start, output over-voltage and under-voltage protection, and system over-temperature protection using thermistor or sensor through OTS pin. h-mode operation The company states that the product has features for fault, pre-bias start and adjustable output voltage.
