Nanochip launches a new isolated Sigma-Delta modulator isolated sampling chip

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-07-30, Microsemi Corporation

The isolated Sigma-Delta modulator NSi1303 and NSi1305 series chips newly developed by NOVOSENSE have extremely low offset error and temperature drift, high common mode immunity up to 150kV/us and 5000Vrms electrical isolation certified by UL1577 performance, the above techniques are suitable for current-sampling designs for complex high-voltage systems in typical applications in the industrial and automotive markets. Relevant R&D personnel pointed out that the NSi1303 chip integrates the internal clock and has two versions of Manchester encoding (NSi1303Ex) and non-encoding (NSi1303M/Dx). Many different needs for timing.

The NSi1303 is an isolated Sigma-Delta modulator with an integrated internal clock. The internal clock has two options of 10MHz and 20MHz. The output data stream is synchronized with the internal clock. The corresponding linear differential input signal range of NSi1303 is ±50mV (full scale ±64mV) or ±250mV range (full scale ±320mV). The ±50mV input range corresponds to 4.9k differential input impedance, and the ±250mV input range corresponds to 22k differential input impedance.

The NSi1305 is an isolated sigma-delta modulator whose output data is synchronized to an external clock, active on the falling edge of the clock, and has a frequency range of 5MHz to 21MHz. The corresponding linear differential input signal range of NSi1305 is ±50mV (full scale ±64mV) or ±250mV range (full scale ±320mV). The ±50mV input range corresponds to 4.9k differential input impedance, and the ±250mV input range corresponds to 22k differential input impedance.
