The LT1110 is a multifunctional micro-power DC-DC converter. The device requires only three external components to provide a fixed output of 5V or 12V. The extremely low 1.0V minimum supply voltage allows the LT1110 to be used in applications where the main supply is a single battery.


Typical application

                

The on-chip auxiliary gain block can be used as a low voltage detector or a linear post regulator. The 70kHz oscillator allows the use of surface mount inductors and capacitors in many applications. The static current is only 300μA, making the device ideal for remote or battery-powered applications where current consumption must be kept to a minimum.


The device can be easily configured as a boost or step-down converter, although the LT1111 is recommended for most step-down applications or input sources greater than 3V. Switching current limits are user adjustable by adding a single external resistor. Unique reverse battery protection circuit limits reverse current safely, lossless horizontal reverse supply voltage up to 1.6V.
