     Infineon Technologies, Inc. announced the launch of the new iMOTION™ IMI110 series of intelligent power modules (IPMs). The product family integrates an iMOTION motion control engine (MCE), A three-phase grid driver, and A 600 V/2 A or 600 V/4 A IGBT in a compact DSO-22 package. This integrated line of motor controllers is suitable for a variety of applications, including motors in large and small household appliances, as well as fans and pumps that typically have a power output of 70 W. Depending on the system design, the series can achieve even higher output.

     The MCE has been proved to be able to achieve efficient field oriented control (FOC) in sensorless motor controllers. The MCE also comes with motor control and integrated scripting, which makes it ready for use without the user having to write any code. The software tool Solution Designer can be used to easily configure and debug the MCE, so that it is easier to develop highly integrated and functionally optimized motor control solutions, and greatly speed up the product to market. In addition, they can quickly prototype specific customers' iMOTION IPM-based products with two new control panels for the iMOTION Modular Application Design Suite (MADK).

     The IMI110 series provides better electrical clearance and creepage distance. These devices have excellent durability and reliability and are certified for HV-H3TRB testing. The product line has a lower BOM (Bill of Materials) cost thanks to a sensorless single resistance sampling scheme, integrated bootstrap diode and single layer PCB design. The IMI110 series has been certified by UL/IEC 60730 (Class B) to meet the functional safety requirements of applications. In addition, they also take good protection measures in the software and hardware.
