As the highest Q 01005 MLCC on the market today for ultra-high frequency (UHF) band applications (300MHz-3GHz), AVX has launched a new CU series. The first part of the new CU series ultra-low-ESR C0G (NP0) MLCC model CU10 01005 MLCC has a typical Q value of 290 when it has a 4pF capacitor at 1GHz, which makes it an ideal choice for reducing power consumption and improving battery efficiency. Frequency power amplifier circuits in multifunctional and multiband RF communication equipment, including: smartphones, tablets, handheld scanners, camera sensor modules and telecommunications equipment. The CU series ultra-low ESR MLCC has a low-resistance internal copper electrode and an internal structure that has been carefully optimized to reduce resistance. The series also shows high-precision and uniformly distributed capacitors ranging from 0.5pF to 22pF, plus the excellent ESR of the series, which can effectively alleviate impedance mismatch between circuits while preserving power and battery life. The CU series MLCC is designed for use in a temperature range of -55C to + 125C, is lead-free compatible and RoHS compliant, and offers Ni / Sn-plated terminations on 4mm and 8mm 7-inch reels. The company said that the second part of the series, numbered CU01 0201 MLCC, is expected to be on the market later this year.
